🛡️ Commitment to Children's Privacy & Families Policy
SmartPathshala strictly complies with the Google Play Families Policy, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and applicable Indian data privacy regulations. We DO NOT collect personal identifiers from young children, DO NOT serve targeted/behavioral advertisements, and maintain a dedicated PIN-protected Parent Zone.
1. Information We Collect
SmartPathshala collects only the minimal data strictly necessary to provide an educational and adaptive learning experience:
Parent / Guardian Account Data: Parent mobile phone number for OTP verification, parent security PIN for dashboard access, and optional account name.
Child Profile (Anonymous): Student nickname/first name, selected Grade/Class (e.g., Nursery, LKG, UKG, Class 1 to Class 12), educational board (CBSE, ICSE, State Board), and learning medium (Hindi / English). No real personal identity, photo, or home address is ever required for child profiles.
Learning & Practice Progress: Question practice scores, mistake notebook logs, streak counts, completed quiz sessions, and mastery badges to dynamically adjust learning difficulty.
Device Diagnostics: Non-personalized crash logs and app performance data strictly used to fix technical bugs and ensure app stability.
2. Nursery, LKG & UKG (Early Childhood Section)
For our early childhood section (Nursery, LKG, and UKG):
No personal data of children under 5 is collected or stored.
All alphabet tracing, phonics sounds, and picture-counting quizzes operate locally with child-friendly interactions.
A Parental Gate (math confirmation dialog) prevents young children from inadvertently navigating to account settings or external links.
3. Advertisements & Third-Party Sharing
Zero Behavioral Ads: We do NOT display targeted, personalized, or behavioral advertisements.
No Data Selling: We never sell, rent, or trade student or parent information to third-party brokers, advertisers, or marketing companies.
Service Providers: We use industry-standard cloud and database providers solely for storing learning progress and processing secure OTP authentication.
4. Data Security
All data transmitted between the App and our backend servers is encrypted using standard HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption protocols. Parent PINs and login tokens are securely hashed and stored.
5. Parental Rights & Account / Data Deletion
Parents and legal guardians retain complete ownership and control over student data. You have the right to:
View all learning progress and profile details inside the PIN-protected Parent Zone.
Modify or delete student profiles at any time.
Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated practice data.
