At Samriva Labs, your privacy is our highest priority. Smart Scanner (Package: com.samrivalabs.smartscanner) is engineered as an offline-first, zero-cloud architecture document scanner.

We do not operate backend servers that receive your document data, nor do we sell, rent, monetize, or transmit your private content to any third parties or remote AI APIs.

⚙️ 2. On-Device Processing & Storage

Every feature within Smart Scanner operates strictly locally on your phone hardware:

• Document Scanning: Live camera capture and boundary detection run directly on your device via Android on-device scanner APIs.
• Offline Optical Character Recognition (OCR): Text recognition runs locally on your device CPU using on-device ML Kit models without any cloud API requests.
• Searchable PDF Generation: Document compilation, page filtering, compression, and searchable PDF generation are compiled 100% locally.
• Local Database: Document catalogs, OCR lines, tags, and preferences are stored in an encrypted/app-private SQLite Drift database on your local storage.
• Local Full-Text Search (FTS5): Search indexing runs inside your local SQLite engine on-device.

🧠 3. Normal Algorithmic AI & Redaction

Smart Scanner includes heuristic intelligence tools (Smart Classifier, Expense Calculator, Smart Namer, Duplicate Finder, and Sensitive Data Redactor):

• 100% Local Heuristics: All document classification, vendor name extraction, and date/amount parsing run on local algorithms without internet access.
• Privacy Redaction: When detecting sensitive numbers (e.g. Aadhaar, PAN, payment cards, phone numbers, emails), the app applies solid on-device pixel masks before sharing to protect your confidential information.

Smart Scanner utilizes well-tested, reputable open-source and on-device native libraries:

• Google Play Services Document Scanner / ML Kit: Downloaded/provisioned on-device by Google Play Services for camera scanning & OCR without sending image data to Google servers.
• SQLite / Drift Engine: For structured local storage within the app's sandboxed private directory.

If advertising or consent services are enabled in specific store releases, they adhere strictly to Google UMP (User Messaging Platform) compliance for GDPR and US state privacy regulations.

🗑️ 6. Data Retention & User Control

• Full User Control: You can delete any individual document, page, tag, or folder at any time.
• Trash & Permanent Deletion: Deleted documents go to the local Trash where they can be restored or permanently wiped from device storage.
• App Uninstall: Uninstalling Smart Scanner automatically deletes all local app-private database records, scanned files, and cached pages stored in the app directory.

👶 7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Smart Scanner does not knowingly collect, store, or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. Since no personal data or accounts are created or transmitted to servers, our application is safe for general audiences.
